Fiction fans and Ballgowns was fun!
FFB 2024 was an amazing experience! It was the first book signing event I’ve done for about five years. I had a blast, especially as I could take my girls with me. I’m not so good at aesthetics, (hence my IG feed and TikTik are a bit hit and miss!) but the girls helped me make the table look pretty, and hubby made me some shelves to lift the books off the flat table to make them easier to see.
I was proud of all the books I had to display. It made me realise how much writing I’ve done in the past 7 years since I started my author journey.
The day went by in a flash. It was so busy, I didn’t have time to think about the time until the event was almost over!
I met some amazing readers throughout the day, and I signed programs, kindle cases, stickers, dairies, and books until my hand ached! It was so cool to meet people who have enjoyed the stories and worlds I created. Sometimes it’s isolating writing, and not knowing if anyone reads or likes the stories I pour so much time and effort into.
It was lovely and renewed my motivation and enthusiasm for my craft. I think that’s one of the reasons reviews are so important, it gives an author the knowledge that people are reading their stories.
I’d love to have had more time to get to meet other authors, so if I manage to get to next year’s FFB event that’s my goal.
It was a fabulous book signing event, and that was without the ball. The fairy-themed event was held in Manchester Cathedral just like the signing, and it was AMAZING!
I had such a good time with my girlies. (Despite having to walk through the rain without a brolly) Yes, I forgot it, so we got all dolled up and then got there wet through! Then again, so were loads of other people so it was all good! We soon dried off. I met a lovely couple from North Carolina, who sat opposite us on the banquet-style table.
If that was you guys then “hi”! It was so nice to talk with you, though the music and noise made it difficult to hear you, so I hope you forgive me for that! I hope you got home safely and enjoyed your time in the UK. Sorry about the selfie mistake on your phone! Embarrassing not to be able to figure out how to use the camera on your phone!😂
If you’d like to take a look at some of the images from that night then feel free to scroll through the carolsel. here are more in the album on the FFB 2024 Facebook group. Actually, I think it’s just changed to the FFB 2025 group. I’m doing my best to attend next year’s event, too. It’s a Moulin Rouge theme next year, and it’s at Kelham Hall near Newark. It looks fabulous.
If you’ve got any questions about my book signing or how to get signed copies of my books, I’m always happy to chat via email or on social media.
